De: Pedro Figueiredo - "While those inside-walls gently fall down"
- Last monday the 28th October, BBC News reporter Nigel Cassidy making a 3 minute report about Portuguese Austerity. In Porto, where else? On Poveiros Square of course, while those inside-walls gently fall… (“while my guitar gently wheeps”).
- One by one, softly dismantled by the town hall workers.
- “Better empty than squatted” - Remember Fontinha struggle? (No, you don´t remember.)
– Half-half house. The non-occupied part of it has fallen down. (The other didn`t.)
– “Better blocked with bricks than squatted” (Is private property sacred?) Oh yeah, it is.
– “You see: - None of this makes any sense. So many people without a home. So many homes without people”.– Is it? "And you, architects? So many architects without a job. So many houses without renovation.”
